he DuPre House retains much of the ambiance and history of the 18th Century. It exhibits a unique architectural style seldom found outside of New England. One of its most famous owners was Paul Trapier, known as the “King of Georgetown”. The house has undergone several name changes and alterations over the years. The first owner was John Arthur and the local historical society refers to the property as the John Arthur House. The current name is derived from Mary Magdalen DuPre, a French Huguenot whose daughter Susannah purchased the house from Paul Trapier in 1753. Present owners Sam Murphy and Karen Komar are committed to preserving the heritage of this historic dwelling for future generations to admire and study. Antiques and artwork from the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries adorn the interior.
